Message from Mayor Paul Rosenberg

The coronavirus has changed so much of how we go about our daily lives. I want to take a moment to update you with some new information since my last village-wide communication.

Today, Governor Cuomo extended until May 15th the New York PAUSE Program, requiring non-essential employees to stay home and also requiring social distancing rules to remain in place. This extension was also coordinated with Connecticut and New Jersey.

Yesterday, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order requiring everyone over the age of two in New York state to wear either a mask, or some kind of material which covers the nose and mouth when you are outside in public situations where social distancing is not possible. This will obviously have a big impact on people living in dense cities. Here in Rye Brook, this does not mean that you must wear a mask when outside your home, going for walks, or riding a bike, unless you will be coming within 6 feet of another person. But if you are food shopping, or somewhere you will be near other people, then you must wear a mask. If you have specific questions about this Executive Order, please visit .

Here in Rye Brook, the cumulative number of confirmed Coronavirus cases is 105. We are hopeful that many of those people may not be sick anymore. Although the weather is getting warmer and more people are spending time outside, please remember to (and remind your children) to keep up the social distancing that we’ve all become accustomed to.

For daily updates on our cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases, please follow me on Twitter @paulrosenberg . Also, please feel free to email me anytime at .

Please also remember to respond to the 2020 United States Census. It really has a big impact on the amount of federal funding we receive. If you haven’t already completed the Census form, please visit .

Thank you.
